Montreal Vs. Toronto |

|
Ed Belfour & Richard Zednik |
Quick Facts
Richard Zednik is my fav player on the Hab's roster. He was
aquired by Montreal a couple of years ago in a trade with the Washington Capitals. Montreal also recieved Yan Bulis in the
trade, while giving up Daniel Zubrus and Trevor Linden.
The Early Years
Richard Zednik |

|
Played for the Portland Pirates in the AHL |
Zednik played in the AHL/WHL for Portland (Picture above
is when he was with the Portland Pirates of the AHL, but played for the Portland Winter Hawks as well in WHL). He spent time
there while with the Washington Capitals organization. While there he did fairly well, in 57 games in the AHL he collected
37 points, 16 of those which were goals. Meanwhile, in 126 games in the WHL, he collected 167 points, 79
being goals.

This is a Hockey Card of Richard Zednik |
Before coming to Montreal in a trade (as mentioned above)
Zednik played for the Washington Capitals. His best year with the Capitals was in the 1999-2000 season. He played 69 games
and obtained 35 points. Out of those points, he had 19 goals, which was a carreer high at the time. Washington drafted
Zednik in the 10th round of the entry draft in 1994. Although drafted late, he has developed into a great player.

Quick Facts
Richard Zenik plays both Left Wing and Right Wing for the Hab's. He
was born January 5th, 1976, in Bystrica, Slovakia. He is 6 feet tall,
and weighs around 200 pounds. He has been in the NHL for about 8 years now. He is probably the Montreal Canadiens biggest
offensive threat against other teams. He has the potentiel to become a 40 goal scorer, but looks to get only around 30 this
year.
"The Injury"

Injured Hab |

|
After a straight arm by Defenceman Kyle Mclearen of the Boston Bruins |
Richard Zednik probably experienced the biggest injury of his carreer
in Game 5 of the first round of the 2002 playoffs. It came at the end of a 5-2 Victory by the Boston Bruins, which tied the
series at 2 games each. Defence Kyle McLaren, pretty much straight armed Zednik as he tried to get by. Zednik wus thus thrown
to the ice where he suffered a concussion. He did not return to the playoffs that year, but Montreal went on to win the next
2 games against Boston to advance to the second round.

Kyle McLaren |

|
As you can probably tell, I'm definitly not Kyle McLarens
number one fan, but I'm sure that there's not many people in Montreal who do like him.
