THE HABS NEWS
The Montreal Canadiens though, did not make many changes in roster, but, gained a new GM. Bob Gainey took over Andre Savard's job as the new builder of the Habs... and has already put his finger prints all over the team... by sending down veterans Karl Dykehuis and Patrick Traverse to the AHL Farm team in Hamilton, in order to keep Ron Hainsey and Mike Komisarek on board.
With Saku Koivu and Chad Kilger on the Injury reserve, room for younger players like Mike Rebiero, Mikael Ryder, Marcel Hossa and Jason Ward have opened up. Mickael Ryder has been showing he wants to stay by scoring his first NHL goal for the Montreal Canadiens in a 4-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jose Theodore looks to be in the shape he was 2 years ago when he won the Heart Memorial(Most valuable player) and Veniza (Best Goaltender) Trophies. It is key that he plays well in order for Montreal to make the playoffs this year!
